Michael joined Bradford Allen in 2015 and is responsible for overseeing the third-party Asset Services practice with a focus on targeting, securing, and implementing new leasing, management, and asset management assignments and strategies. Michael’s approach to asset management is integrative and engenders a collaborative culture between the management and leasing teams in order to achieve the overall financial and operational goals for each project assignment.

During his first year at Bradford Allen, the agency practice brought on eight new assignments, totaling nearly 1.5 million square feet. Michael also refined various processes, resulting in the more efficient execution of asset management and leasing functions of the nearly 5.5 million square feet he oversees, which includes approximately one million square feet of out-of-state office space. As the head of the asset management team for the LG&E Center in Louisville, Kentucky, Michael was able to reduce operating expenses by over 10% in the first year, decrease the overhead related to the building’s parking structure by nearly 50%, and complete the lease renewal and/or expansion of 100% of the tenants with 2016 lease expirations.

His career in commercial real estate began in 1992 as a general manager with MB Real Estate in Chicago. During his nearly five-year tenure, he was responsible for managing and leasing over two million square feet of office projects, ranging in size from 100,000 square feet to 850,000 square feet, in downtown Chicago. Prior to joining Bradford Allen, Michael was the senior vice president/regional manager of commercial property for Foresite Realty Partners in Rosemont, Illinois. Over nearly four years at Foresite, he was involved in the leasing and management of over ten million square feet of office, retail, and mixed-use projects on behalf of large institutions, most of which were in various stages of financial and legal transition.

In addition, Michael was responsible for developing new business and executing large accounts on behalf of corporate occupants at UGL-Equis, now Cushman & Wakefield. His broad real estate knowledge was enhanced through a leadership role with his family’s real estate business, Pontarelli and Company, where he served as a commercial broker and Principal of the company for several years.

Michael is married with two daughters and enjoys traveling, golfing, and cooking. He attended the College of Business Administration at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and advertising.
