Lakesha Threatt is the Senior Corporate Accountant at Bradford Allen. With over 22 years of accounting experience, Lakesha is responsible for overseeing all daily accounting activities, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliation. She also provides financial information to internal and external stakeholders via financial statements, as well as being the liaison for the annual audits.
Her main focus is to add to the ever-growing accounting team by being adaptable and supporting the team where needed. According to a Gallup strengths-finder test, Lakesha is very strong in the areas of responsibility, learning, and achievement. These three themes drive who she is, taking ownership of anything she commits to, loving the process of learning, and looking forward to reaching goals that she sets for herself. Lakesha is experienced in using Financial Edge Accounting Software and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Lakesha previously worked as an Accounting Manager at Center for Research Libraries, a not-for-profit research library where she oversaw month-end closing, acted as grant funds administrator, and managed treasury management for the organization. She managed and coached a team of three, working to improve workflows and accounting processes.
Lakesha is family-oriented and loves to travel with her family. In her free time, she loves to sew with her daughter and enjoy beautiful walks along the lakefront. She also volunteers at local food pantries throughout the year. Lakesha’s favorite time of the year is Chicago summers.
With 15 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, Brian brings a wealth of expertise to the role. He has a strong ability to analyze, manipulate and interpret large amounts of data through extensive Excel modeling, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, he has experience interacting with C-level executives. Prior to joining BA, Brian served as Director of Finance at Wolters Kluwer, where he was a strategic finance partner to the leadership team of the Clinical Surveillance, Compliance & Data Solutions Health Business Unit. He also worked as Senior Manager of Finance/Analytics at Allstate Insurance and as Finance Manager at Walgreen. Brian received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. He is married with two young boys and enjoys playing golf and hockey in his free time.
Waleitha joined Bradford Allen in 2014 after working with for-profit organizations and real estate firms including Indcor, Transwestern, and RREEF Property Management Company. With more than three decades of diverse accounting experience, Waleitha brings a wealth of knowledge to her role.
Supporting the firm’s executives, property managers, and leasing agents, Waleitha’s financial knowledge is crucial to ensuring the expert handling of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and various payroll functions. Detail oriented, Waleitha is a proficient problem solver and an asset to the firm. Her other responsibilities include tenant and vendor relationship management and acting as banking liaison on the firm’s behalf.
Waleitha lives on the Southeast side of Chicago and has four daughters. A self-proclaimed “professional shopper,” she has a serious passion for online shopping. In addition, Waleitha is the executive administrative coordinator for her pastor at Trinity All Nations Deliverance Ministries.
John joined Bradford Allen in 2020 from Magnolia Capital, where he oversaw property accounting as a Senior Accountant. John previously worked at JLL as a corporate accountant before transitioning to a financial analyst role. As a Director within our Finance department, he performs the month-end close process for a number of properties, in addition to completing any lender reporting requirements and supporting financial audits when applicable. He brings more than five years of industry experience to his role.
A Chicago native, John was born and raised in the Edison Park neighborhood. He holds bachelor’s degrees from DePaul University in accounting and finance. In his free time, John enjoys golf and remains an avid sports fan.
Sam is the Chief Financial Officer at Bradford Allen and has more than 25 years of corporate finance, capital markets, investment banking, and accounting experience.
As CFO, he is primarily responsible for managing the company’s finances, including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, financial reporting and analysis of data. He supervises the finance unit and is the chief financial spokesperson for the organization. Sam is also responsible for developing strategic and tactical matters relating to financial management, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting needs and the securing of new funding. Sam is passionate about maintaining the quality of work and a high standard of excellence. He strives to make things more efficient and to utilize technology to drive down costs. In addition, he has a strong work ethic and is committed to doing the right thing and operating with integrity.
Prior to joining the firm, he served as Senior Director and Group Manager for the BRM Capital Markets division of Fitch Ratings. Sam was Vice President, Investment Banking for Comerica Bank, a $65B, publicly traded top 20 US bank holding company where he originated, executed and structured debt, equity and financial advisory engagements in public and private capital markets. Additionally, he was Vice President, Finance and Treasurer for the Martin Brower Company. In these capacities Sam has raised and structured a significant amount of capital in several countries and currencies; issued both debt and equity securities; completed several global M & A transactions; managed pension assets; managed corporate finance functions such as financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, consolidations, financial modeling and accounting; as well as global cash management.
Sam holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Loyola University, Chicago. Sam lives in the Chicago area with his wife and children. In his spare time, he is an avid Chicago Bears fan and also enjoys golf and gardening.
